These Venues have a core time from 2.00 to 4.00 on the Saturdays, but some are open longer and these times are indicated.
June 27th Preston Park, Eaglescliff TS18 3RH The park and hall are signposted. They are found on the A67 between the A66 and yarm. There is a Victorian street with shops, a Victorian walled garden and a museum open from 10am to 4pm. A charge of 2.50 (1.50) is made but this covers the whole year. There is also parkland, adventure playground, and riverside and woodland which are free and the butterfly house which is nice and warm at a further charge.
July4th - Newham grange county farm This is found on the B1365, Stokesley to Middlesborough road. Pond, animals, birds, buildings and views. A charge of £3.50. Open 9:30 to 5:30
July 11th South Park Darlington Close to home. This park has superb trees, children’s play area, lake and more. Toilets open from 8.30 to 4.00. Cafe from 10am to 5pm
July 18th Stanhow farm -The home of Sir Robin (our president) and lady Mary Furness. DL7 0TJ From Darlington take the A167 towards Northallerton; turn right onto the B1263 towards scorton. At Atley Hill crossroads turn left towards Streetlam, in Streetlam turn right towards Whitwell. The farm is on the left after the hump back bridge before Whitwell. Barns, animals, buildings and a pond.
July 25th Hurworth Village Based on the Methodist church/cafe From Darlington take the A167 south and turn left just before Croft Bridge, the Methodist church will be found on the bend. Toilets are available in the cafe. Interesting buildings and a large village green.
August 1st Nigh-no-place, streetlam, The home of Geoff and Judith Lowther From Darlington take the A167 towards Northallerton; Turn right onto the B1263 towards Scorton. At Atley hill crossroads turn left towards Streetlam. The Property is found on the right hand side before streetlam village. Smallholding with old tractors and farm paraphernalia.
August 8th Fishing lakes at Cornhill, East Cowton. DL7 0JW From Darlington take the A167 towards Northallerton; turn right on to the B1263 towards Scorton. The farm will be found on the left with a sign for fishing ponds. We are welcome to paint here anytime.
August 15th Ellerton Lake, Northallerton From Scorton take the Northallerton Road and the lakes will be found on the right hand side. There is a brown sign. This is a chance to draw water sports activities around the lakes. We are requested not to hinder access to the water for the participants.
August 22nd Langthornes Buffalo Farm, Brompton, Northallerton DL6 2PD Take the A167 Northallerton road. Turn left to Brompton, the farm, farm shop and cafe will found on the right before the railway crossing. A large variety of animals including rare breeds and buffalo.
August 29th Paddock farm Water gardens, Dalton Gates, DL2 2PT From Darlington the A167 towards Northallerton. Turn right at Dalton signed for the water gardens and croft circuit. The Gardens will be found on the left. There are a series of small gardens redesigned for this year.
September 5th Locomotion, National railway museum, Shildon The museum is open from 10am to 5pm. Trains, trains and more. No charge.
